Feeling bored at home on a Saturday evening, bf, brother & I decided to head down to Guillemard Road for prawning which was much advertised recently on tv.
I remember prawning pretty often when I was younger. It is a senseless activity where you sit there for hours, hoping that some silly prawns would bite on the bait. But it is also a time where you spend good quality time with your family, allowing time to pass by you slowly, away from the buzz of the city. More importantly, the taste of those freshly salted prawns which we barbeque straightaway is unbeatable.
In a spur of the moment, the 3 of us did just that, but not too successful though.. haha.. Spent an hour but only managed to catch two pathetic prawns despite all efforts to increase our chances of attracting the prawns (worms as baits, more food… )
Although we could only enjoy 2 prawns, it was no less tasty as the good old days.

Yummilicious prawns...
Smilez…
I am honestly a very lousy blogger… hahaha… I only blog when I am free or at least, in the mood to do so.. =P
Here’s an update on my life. Since coming back from Bangkok last week, I have been extremely busy at work with all the television commercial and website shoot. So busy that I often skipped lunch and only know that I have missed my meal at the end of the day when I can finally sit down for a rushed supper. Finally, the mad rush is coming to an end but I am finally feeling the fatigue. Look out for the new television commercial coming real soon! So excited! =)
A good piece of news that perked me up recently is that I have received my confirmation. Couldn’t believe that six months just slip by so quickly. It has been well-spent, fulfilling and fun thus far. I can’t be asking for more.
As for my trip to Bangkok with mummy and bf, I enjoyed myself tremendously despite having to bear with my ankle injury. Here are some photographs to sum up this shopping and eating trip.
I have to mention this. Due to the flood in BK upon reaching, It took us 5 hours to get from the airport to our hotel when it was suppose to be a 1 hour ride. Fortunately, the flood ceased later in the night and we were able to get on with our trip. Interesting experience… =)

This is going to make Nana real jealous.. =P

The fat and juicy squid that oozed in my mouth

Bf's bento that cost only 300baht (S$12)

It's called floorless cake... An interesting try...

A&W curly fries.. Totally nostalgic..
Back to reality…
Caught My Sister’s Keeper over the weekend with bf and cried buckets in the cinema. The ending is a little different from the book but still enjoyed the loving family story that wrenched my heart.
Catch the movie only if you are prepared to come out of the cinema with swollen eyes.. Even my strong bf crumbled… =P
It’s been ages since I have updated my blog because work has been busy busy busy.
Just last Sunday, I attended my primary school friend’s wedding. It was a not a big fan-fare at a glamorous hotel but it was no less joyous and blissful. Although the bride (my friend) was seemingly drained out from the long day of ceremonial engagements, her happiness was contagious.
I love attending weddings for that reason. It is the time whereby family members come together for this joyous occasion, work together for months to piece a perfect wedding for the couple and more importantly, the happily ever after ending found in all fairy tales.
Beyond all worldly pursuits, ultimately, I believe everyone hopes to find a partner that one can trust their lives with. While some find it easy, others may have to wait patiently. So please treasure that special one that you have.
To my dear friend, Ruby… Wishing you and your hubby a blissful marriage filled with love and happiness.

Just last Friday (02/10/2009), I celebrated my 4th month at work. 2 days ago (04/10/2009), I celebrated my 3rd year anniversary with my dearie. How time flies…
The past weeks have been extremely busy at work and meeting up with friends and with my fully packed schedule, every day seems to slip by so quickly. It is becoming difficult to recall what I did the day before, making me feel like an aged lady with a failed memory. =P
In the midst of all the rush and fun, I wonder why there is this lingering emptiness that fills me now and then. I am looking at going back to volunteering and hope that the next place that I render my help at will be better, more innocent and truly live the spirit of volunteerism. When genuine intentions to volunteer is treated as faking it up, it drowns out any bit of motivation to keep going. I miss Kenny totally but knowing he is in good hands makes me happy.
Maybe, it is time to move on to the next chapter in my life.
I am here to shake off the dust… Happy Birthday to my dearies.

Happy Birthday Li Qing!

Happy Birthday Celestine!

Yummmzzzzzz

Trying to be models... =p

Many years of friendship and more to come....
At some point in life, we question ourselves ‘what if’ we have chosen the alternative(s)… And I am no exception.. I question…
What if I was born in a family where my grandparents gave me the due recognition as a child who strives to be my best… Perhaps, I would be a more confident person that I am today.
What if I had not switched primary school.. I could possibly be speaking better mandarin and not be mocked at whenever I attempt to communicate in that language.
What if I had insist on pursuing a degree in Geography (a subject which I love)… I might become a teacher…
However, for the many ‘what ifs’ I have toyed in my mind, I am thankful for the many other surprises that came along…
I turned out a stronger person who do not cave in easily in the face of difficulties.
I always remind myself that there are always room for improvements in all aspects of my life, especially working towards improving my mandarin.
I will not be where I am today, enjoying myself in the dynamic field of communication and advertising.
And I might not be the Avy that you know… Love me or hate me, I will be myself… To all my friends, thank you for loving me for who I am… Muaks!
We jumped, laughed, posed till we were totally shagged out! But we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Walking down memory lane with the people that left imprints in my life…

In a blink of an eye, three months have passed by at work. I am totally glad that things are beginning to fall into place, and more importantly, I am enjoying the work I do. Having nice colleagues around make it all the more pleasurable.
This whole experience on my first career has set me thinking real hard on the things which I hold so dearly in the past, but now, I am seeing that they mean less to me today. Few entries back, I shared about my inner struggle and indeed, these negativities instilled by non-supportive people onto me are perhaps, mere insecurities on their end. At least, today, they mean nothing to me.
I am happy with what I am doing, savouring the journey and enjoying every little step that I take in my own personal growth. The biggest lesson I have taken away with me: Stay true & positive to oneself and you will find joy in everything you do. People may judge and play down the things you do, but the ball is in your court to make the best out of everything that you experience.
To my friends who have taken the bold step to step out of their comfort zones, I am happy for you. =)

National Day spent at Pan Pacific Hotel
To spice up our National Day this year and to leverage on the long weekend, we checked into Pan Pacific Hotel for a good getaway. With lady luck on our side, we were upgraded to club floor as they ran out of rooms..
Totally enjoyed the experience, watching NDP from our room, away from the monotonous routine of work.. A spledid experience indeed!

I have to mention this. I thought that this year’s NDP parade was the best I have ever seen. I am totally impressed by the choreography of this mega musical display of Singapore’s historical journey since Sang nila utama founded Singapore. The wonderful combination of light, dance, colourful costumes, familiar songs, fireworks awed me. This was a marked difference from past parades where formations were the mainstay. Cleverly put together, this historical musical did not bore me one bit, but instead left me thirsting for more.
Proud to be a Singaporean!

Beautiful water display by the Republic of Singapore Navy

Another wonderful shot!
